Shenzhen issued the country's first local standard for low volatile paint

Combined with the industrial status of shenzhen, the specification controls the paint used in the industries of road and traffic sign construction, container manufacturing, automobile manufacturing of small passenger cars, wooden furniture and wooden products manufacturing, toy manufacturing, etc., with reference to the domestic advanced standards to stipulate the limit of VOCs content in the paint products.

It is understood that Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are precursors of ozone generation in the environmental atmosphere and are important causes of photochemical pollution and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) pollution. Since 2015, the number of days with ozone as the main pollutant has exceeded PM2.5 for three consecutive years, becoming the primary pollutant in shenzhen. VOCs emission surface is wide and abundant, of which the use of paint products is one of the most important emission sources.

Starting from the second quarter of 2018, shenzhen environmental protection department will carry out special inspection together with the market supervision department to strictly check the sales and use of paint products that do not meet the requirements of the code from production, sales and pollutant discharge.
